Penkridge & District Round Table
Our biggest THANK YOU yet to Penkridge Round Table, who On Friday 8th February 2013 hosted their annual Sportsman's Evening in aid of A Child Of Mine. Over 130 attended the event at the Hatherton Hotel in Penkridge, Staffordshire, which included guest speakers Micky Quinn, Jeff Probyn and comedian Lea Roberts.
An incredible £2650 was raised for A Child Of Mine, which not only exceeds our £5,000 target to enable us to become a registered charity, but means that we are now in a position to be able to offer financial assistance to local families after the death of a child.
The Sportsman's evening was a huge success, despite earlier concerns that the event would not be fully attended. The evening started by showing A Child Of Mine's promotional video, explaining the journey behind the charity and touching the hearts of all who watched, including comedian Lea Roberts who made an emotional introduction to the evenings proceedings.
However, the evening soon picked up pace, beer flowed, the guest speakers did not disappoint, and the auction ran smoothly and without delay! A great night was had by all and an amazing amount of money was raised for a very worthwhile cause.
We are extremely honoured and humbled that Penkridge Round Table chose to support A Child Of Mine. We will never be able to express in words our level of thanks to all of you, not only those involved in agreeing to support us, but those involved on the night, you all worked so hard to make the evening such a success.
The money raised means so very much to us as an organisation, and it really will make such a huge difference to us and local families in the future – Thank you!
About the Round Table
The Round Table has thousands of members who meet up every couple of weeks around the UK to have fun, do something more than just have a pint and get involved in their local communities.
Most local Round Tables get together to do everything from paintballing to a game of football, or even something as night out at a comedy club. These evenings are the essence of Round Table – bringing together groups of friends for beer and banter.
Each local Round Table organises its own community events. These can vary from club to club, ranging from carnivals and bonfires for tens of thousands of people, to fun runs and barbeques.
We get involved in our local communities; we put something back, and make a real difference.
Penkridge Round Table is the 2nd largest table in the country ran by a great bunch of guys who enjoy getting together, having a laugh and raising lots for local causes. To find out more visit http://www.penkridge.roundtable.co.uk/
