Cardiff Sands

We are a local SANDS Group started in 2006.

At that time, no local SANDS group existed - the nearest being based in Llandridnod Wells - Powys SANDS. Having been in contact a few bereaved parents form the Cardiff area via The National SANDS forums, It was HeatherJane and Dave Coombs who decided we should set up a support group in the Cardiff area, and Cardiff SANDS was born.

From humble beginnings, we initially set up local support groups with two of our original members - Dave and Heather attending Befriender Training to help others going through the devastating loss of a baby. We started organising a few fundraising and publicity events to try and promote our group and the work of the SANDS charity as a whole

Cardiff Sands hold meetings on the last Thursday of every month.

Our support meetings take place from 7pm-9pm at St David's Hospital, Cowbridge Road East, Canton, Cardiff
